Welcome to my NYFW daily recap! Let's pop that bottle. NYFW always excites me. This year was a complete sensory overload. My week was jam packed with invites to a range of different designers including Georgine, Vivienne Hu, and my personal favorite Chromat. Wednesday my fashion assistant Michael attended the Rubin Singer preview on my behalf. I arrived in NYC early Thursday morning and started my week with the Ladaska Mechelle presentation. I finished day one with the FW16 Marissa Webb show at Skylight Clarkson Square. Ladaska Mechelle most known for swimwear design, showcased a gorgeous collection for her FW16 presentation featuring mixtures of textures and cuts. Inspired by travel and adventure, Ladaska incorporates her experiences into her designs. My two favorite pieces for her collection include the feather vest and high-slit black dress. Guests were also invited to the pre-season pop-up shop in the evening. Debuted at Skylight Clarkson Square, Marissa Webb's designs hit the runway at 3pm on the official day 1 of NYFW. Webb incorporated a sophisticated mix of business-professional plaid and fun floral in her FW16 collection. I would have to say my favorite look from this show was the low-rise leather pants with the high-low cut top. I am a big fan of dramatic cuts and drapes so it isn't a surprise I loved this ensemble.

By: Michael Amore & Elizabeth McLaughlin First off, I wanna thank Liz for presenting me and my boyfriend (@LexxDashh) with the opportunity of attending the Rubin Singer showcase for her. The showcase took place at Industria Studios in the Meatpacking District. Guests of attendance were shoe designer Brian Atwood and June Ambrose. Rubin Singer is an NYC based designer who is known for designing for Shakira, Alicia Keys, Heidi Klum and most notable the "Queen Bey" Beyoncé herself. Rubin Singers popularity skyrocketed when Beyoncé wore his costumes at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. Rubin now sells his designs at fashion retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. The theme of the collection was homomorphism In abstract algebra, a homomorphism is a structure-preserving map between two algebraic structures (such as groups, rings, or vector spaces). One of my favorite is the shattered, glass dress. This past winter I attended the Jacqueline de Ribes exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. The exhibit features 60 of the twentieth century style icon's haute couture and ready-to-wear ensembles from her personal archive. Included in the exhibit were photographs and videos showcasing the growth of her international style, dating back to as early as her childhood dress-up days. My favorite look was the fuchsia, backless ruffle dress. Nothing says happy holidays like sparkles. I love walking through NYC in the winter with all the gorgeous holiday decorations. A NYC holiday tradition where crowds gather is seen on 57th Street. In partnership with Swarovski, Bergdorf Goodman designed over the top holiday window displays with countless crystals and fun themes. My favorite was the "Treasured" window. Bloggers & fashionistas gathered to celebrate the MJ Pieces of Paris Party at Laduree in Soho, NYC. Macaroons were passed, perfume was created & chic holiday cards were written while enjoying live music. Guests received stylish gifts including a Maison Jules sweater (the Voila! gray sweater happens to be my favorite), chic holiday cards, Lune & Aster cream / makeup and a Parisian tray from Rosanna. The Simply Stylist Beauty and Fashion Conference took place at the W Hotel in NYC. I was so excited to attend with my fashionista bestie Bianca from Clothes Horse Clothing. Of course we were wearing our favorite Kent Stetson Handbags. My complete outfit included a BCBG draped skirt, gray express sweater top, BCBG lace up shoes & a red leather & python Kent Stetson bag. Bianca wore her own fabulous creation, a pink polka dot skirt paired with a jumpsuit and Kent Stetson donut clutch. The Simply Stylist event was created to bring fashion professionals into one place to tell their story and give industry advice to aspiring fashionistas. Key speakers at the event included Olivia Culpo, June Ambrose, Catt Sadler and Madison Guest. There were also many workshops including a blogger 101 session. The event kicked off with a VIP brunch where we mingled and munched on some delicious bites. There were aspiring speeches all day where we learned how these professionals made it in the industry. After the speeches we mingled and met with celebrity stylists, bloggers, photographers and other fashionistas. There was also another room filled with different vendors speaking about their product and forming collaborations with bloggers. Dove was one of the key sponsors at the Simple Stylist Conference. They designed a cutting-edge dry spray deodorant that is easy to use and virtually invisible. I was so excited to get a to start using it in my morning routine. At the conference I met Hannah Ziegler, photographer and Creative Director of Spire & Co, who I am very excited to have on board as my NYC blog photographer.
You all must know by now that I have been working for handbag designer Kent Stetson as his pr girl.
For the past two years I have been part-time managing his social media, website design and selling at special events such as StyleWeek and Trade Shows. While I was working for Kent I had full-time jobs first as an Assistant Manager for Abercrombie & Fitch Company and then as a Jewelry/Belt Designer for Kerissa Creations. Now, Kent offered me a position full-time as his Public Relations & Account Manager. Total dream job. A few things I do: manage all of our accounts, Brand Ambassador during NYFW, run sales at special events, send celebrities and industry professionals Kent bags, secure press placements.... The list goes on. I have been running to NYC every other week meeting with fashion professionals, attending important industry events & interviewing with magazines. It is a lot of work and can become extremely exhausting, but it is rewarding. I have immersed myself in the fashion industry for about 7 years now, since planning and designing for my first show as my senior project in high school. Since then I have been involved with and attended hundreds of important events. I initiated my blog into the fashion realm a little over 2 years ago and it has grown to become a platform for showcasing what I am doing in the fashion world, my style, and my golden ticket into exclusive fashion events. Paris here I come. As you may know, I am a painter so I adore when forms of art are incorporated into designs. Although I always paint Landscapes, my favorite type to wear is Abstract art. This season is all about elongating your body, so I like mixing my short dresses with high boots paired with a long vest. Every celebrity and fashionista is wearing these sexy high boots. Scroll down to shop the look.

Their collections represent passion, vision and motivation to success. My favorite look was the sheer coverup with bikini combo by Ebony Taylor. By: Elizabeth McLaughlin & Kaleigh Guay While I could only attend the last two nights because of NYFW, my fashion writer Kaleigh Guay attended all the StyleWeek shows. I am thankful to have such an awesome fashionista on my team. Even though NYFW is beyond amazing, I looked forward to seeing some familiar faces back at home. The neoprene black oversized jacket paired with wools, cool jewel tone printed silk dresses and variety of furs created a creature by night experience. Jeffrey Dickerson Are you looking for a jaw dropping evening gown or two piece? Jeffrey Dickerson had a radiant selection of gowns. My two favorite pieces in particular were the open back peplum bodices paired with luminous skirts. Another reason why I loved this collection was for the silver and metallic tone fabrics used. In my opinion any silver or gold tone jewelry would be the perfect fit for any piece in this collection. Jeffrey even won best dressed man (the same night I won best dressed woman) by trade secrets wearing a suit jacket he made himself! For your next glamous occassion, check out Jeffrey's latest styles . Earl Battle Edgy mohawks paired with multiple patterns glued my eyes to the runway. Earl Battle showcases women’s and men’s apparel with style. The women’s apparel fell into one of two categories. Mix and match of beautiful prints in a relaxed construction or one solid and one print in a unique construction. My favorite piece in particular was a red swirl printed dress paired with a red plaid outer skirt. These two prints you may not typically think they would work together but end up becoming a magnificent dress. The men’s clothing stuck to a specific color scheme per design with angled construction, which was visually appealing. Refinery 29, 29 Rooms
My first festivity of the day was the an epic exhibit called 29Rooms, hosted by Refinery 29 in Brooklyn NYC. Refinery 29 is an American-based fashion, style and beauty website featuring daily articles geared towards city life in the USA. I attended the event with my new fashion friend Yani. It was a ton of fun. It was an interactive exhibit featuring everything from warped mirrors to radio clouds and Minnie Mouse flip books to alternate realities! My two favorite rooms were the black light room where we danced around with music blasting through our headphones while playing in the feathers and the Minnie Mouse flip book room.
Chanel, Meet My Boyfriend
Before going to Milk Studios to attend the Chromat SS16 show at MADE Fashion Week we stopped into the Chanel #meetmyboyfriend exhibit. While promoting their new Boyfriend watch line, they served Coca Cola, hor d'oeuvres & temporary tattoos.
Rooftops & Bubbles
Between events I met up with Yeni for some champagne and crepes at my favorite rooftop spot in the city, Le Bain :) !
