First off, I wanna thank Liz for presenting me and my boyfriend (@LexxDashh) with the opportunity of attending the Rubin Singer showcase for her. The showcase took place at Industria Studios in the Meatpacking District. Guests of attendance were shoe designer Brian Atwood and June Ambrose.
Rubin Singer is an NYC based designer who is known for designing for Shakira, Alicia Keys, Heidi Klum and most notable the "Queen Bey" Beyoncé herself. Rubin Singers popularity skyrocketed when Beyoncé wore his costumes at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. Rubin now sells his designs at fashion retailers such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
The theme of the collection was homomorphism In abstract algebra, a homomorphism is a structure-preserving map between two algebraic structures (such as groups, rings, or vector spaces). One of my favorite is the shattered, glass dress.
