 | Dear Royale Diary Readers, It has been a while since I posted because I have been so busy working and celebrating the holidays with my family. Hope your holidays were amazing! So as you may know this is my second year selling at the Grand Central Holiday Fair. This means I was living in NYC during the winter season. It is a huge opportunity to be able to sell to people from all over the world. So many people come to NYC during the holidays to shop and enjoy the winter festivities. I love the energy that NYC has, it gets me super pumped up. Another perk of working in NYC is being able to reconnect with my fashion friends. I have a lot of friends in the industry so it is great to relax and see where everyone is at before the craziness of fashion week . . . which is right around the corner! I am so grateful to love what I do. |
Ophelia
One of my favorite new bars for after work drinks is Ophelia. My fashion friend Renee was raving about the review that she read in a magazine so we had to check it out. It is located in Midtown East, 3 Mitchell Place between 49TH & 1st Avenue. It is on the top of the Beekman (Panhellenic) Tower, built in 1928. I am obsessed with the atmosphere and killer views. The decor is spectacular. My favorite drink is called "Rising Star" which includes Pierre Ferrand cognac, El Dorado 12 rum, cinnamon simple syrup, and lotus cookie infused cream. The cocktails are a little expensive (about $17 for a martini) but it is ok to splurge a little sometimes. ;)
Color Factory
I love checking out different art and fashion exhibits. This year I attended an interactive art exhibit called Color Factory in Soho, NYC. It is designed by a collaboration of artist and inspired by the colors of NYC. It is completely photo friendly. They have cameras in every room so you can easy take photos hands-free. My favorite experience was dancing the "disco" on the light up dance floor. There was even a macaroon conveyer belt! Tickets are only $35 and I highly recommend attending.
The Christmas Spirit in the City
Who doesn't love NYC during the holidays? Well actually, based on my friend's grumbles it is definitely the New Yorkers... but that is from the influx of tourist. Crazy as it is, my New York friends still go to see the Saks holiday windows. It is a NYC holiday tradition. The Saks on 5th Avenue has the best windows, in my opinion, and it is conveniently right near the tree.
