Your Thoughts are the Architects of Your Destiny
Hello!
My name is Liz and I am a go-getter. My life is driven on goals & fun projects. I started my fashion & lifestyle blog Royale Diary as a way to document my life, the events I was attending, and my fashion career wherever it would take me. I started it as a Senior at URI. I always liked physical diaries but I wanted an online platform to show people my journey through life. I am happy to have the life where my work and play intertwine. I truly have my dream job and dream life.
Traveling to Europe and fashion week multiple times a year has been a dream. I couldn't be happier.
My Younger Days
I attended an art high school called JMW where I won the Congressional Art Award for my acrylic painting of Historical Slater Mill, the first textile mill in the USA. In Spring of 2009 my family & I were flown to Washington D.C. where my painting was showcased for a year in the Congressional building. In 2009 I started a swimwear line which since then has been in various fashion shows, sold in a local boutique and featured multiple publications. I continued my venture with swimwear and fashion design at the University of Rhode Island. Here I won several competitions for my designs including Eco Chic's Most Creative and Spring Splash's Judges Choice. During this time I also worked as a Teacher Assistant for a design class and Professor's Assistant for a sustainable textile project for Nasa's 100YSS (100 year star ship). In college I met handbag designer Kent Stetson who was a guest speaker for my seminar class. I networked with all the speakers but was very intrigued by his story and edgy designs. My first purchase was Splash, his signature design which is a physical representation of his transitional story from digital art into handbag design. From then on, I saw Kent at many other fashion events. Right before graduating I started my fashion blog to document all the competitions I was in, my style & the industry events I would attend. I now have grown my blog to roughly 8.7k views per month. In December of 2013 I graduated the University of Rhode Island with honors in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design.
Building the Dream
I built my dream job over the past few years and every move I made was a stepping stone to where I am now. I have always found networking important, no matter what the setting is. Shortly after graduating in December 2013 I was asked to be the event planner & designer for the Sunflower Soiree Annual Fashion Show. During this time handbag designer Kent Stetson hired me as his part time PR girl working occasional trade shows, industry events, managing his social media and designing the brand website. As a stepping stone I also worked as an Assistant Manager for Abercrombie & Fitch Co. I then started my journey into the jewelry industry in November 2014 as a Jewelry Designer creating computer renderings for companies such as Chico's, White House Black Market, Nasty Gal, Khols and JCP. Over the years, I have grown Kent Stetsons's online presence and networked with many industry professionals. Recently I got offered a full-time position here as his PR & Account Manager. I now attend deskside meetings with editors of magazines, represent as the Brand Ambassador at NYFW and other big industry events, manage of all 200 stores nationally and internationally, send bags to celebrities, and expand the brands reach. I feel it is important to have pride and passion in your work.
You live one life; love what you do.
