Kyle Richards from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Debuts Kyle & Shahida Collection at NYFW

Kyle Richards, Reality TV star from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,
debuted her resort wear collection Kyle and Shahida at NYFW on September 8th.
She co-designed the collection with designer in collaboration with designer Shahida Clayton.
Kyle's fellow housewives supported by walking in the show. The housewives that modeled included Lisa Rinna,
Erika Girardi, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, Dorit Kemsley and Denise Richards.
Kyle's daughters Alexia Umansky and Sophia Umansky were in the show modeling and supporting their mom.
Having women of all different ages in the show makes the line appeal to a wide range of customers.
Celebrities in attendance included Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, and CJ Perry (Lana from WWE).
The pieces from the collection are available for preorder and will be ready to ship within three weeks!
Usually collections seen at Fashion Week take about 6 months to end up in stores.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were seen filming around NYC this past weekend.
The runway show will also be included in season 10, airing early 2020.
My video was also featured in People Magazine. I was the only influencer included.

"Sometimes, your dream job is not the first job you land out of college. Maybe you don’t know what really you want to do with your life and that’s ok. There are trial and error that happens in your early 20’s, especially entering a new industry. Going off into the unknown and building your life can be scary and rewarding."

"I am happy to have the life where my work and play intertwine. My blog has been a platform and my golden ticket into industry events where I network with professionals as Kent’s PR girl. Some of my biggest PR projects include The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Nylon Magazine and Taryn Manning from OITNB. I truly have my dream job and dream life."

"My love for fashion stemmed from my earlier years when I wanted to craft the world around me. My dolls were dressed in outfits I hand stitched. As a teen, I began to alter my clothing to make the styles unique. At JMW high school, I focused on fine arts, especially acrylic painting. There, I won the Congressional Art Award for my painting of Historic Slater Mill, the first textile mill in the USA. After school, I would often watch Project Runway and be inspired by the fashion designers. Their pieces were truly wearable art. That is when I decided I wanted to pursue fashion as a career. For my senior project, I designed and promoted a 16 piece collection with the help of a mentor."

"I enjoy inspiring people to follow their dreams. In my earlier years, I use to lay awake at night researching all the places I wanted to travel to before I died. I made those dreams come true when I backpacked Europe. We build the life we want to live with will power and ambition."

"I specialize in Public Relations and Sales. Sales are the foundation of the company. This will be our second year selling at the Grand Central Holiday Fair in NYC. I am very excited to be living in New York and selling. Kent started his company as a lemonade stand model and did not use venture capital. If he wanted to grow, he had to make the sales to back it up. He went from creating bags in his basement to a beautiful studio at Hope Artiste village and selling to over 200 stores. We are also selling internationally. I am very proud of Kent."

Exclusive Interview with Fashion Illustrator Holly Nichols

During the the Simply Stylist Conference I interviewed fashion illustrator Holly Nichols.

Royale Diary: So tell me more about your fashion illustration company. Where did you get started?
Holly Nichols: I started after I graduated. I was looking for a way to combine my two passions which are fashion and art. I was always creating fashion inspired art. I thought of a social media account where I could start documenting my art. It gave traction and people showed interest in it which was a surprise to me. It kind of came as a mistake. I started my business from a demand.

Royale Diary: Where do you get your inspiration for different styles?
Holly Nichols: I get a lot of inspiration from the runway. I do two types of illustrations i create: high fashion couture and cozy everyday wear. A lot of my girls are bundled up in different sweaters and that is really inspired by the different seasons. Right now I am drawing a lot of chunky knits. The high fashion drawings are inspired by the runways. Couture week is my favorite week because there are so many great things to draw. I don't know how to make clothes but I enjoy the art process of sketching it out.

Royale Diary: What advice would you give to someone who wants to increase their following on social media?
Holly Nichols: When I started out I used 30 hashtags. That was the max you could do. That started attracting a lot of spam and a lot of people I didn't want to attract such as the "like for like" accounts. So from there I started to tweak my hashtags to ones that were relevant to what I was doing but would still get the attention. Instead of using #art with a category of probably 5million+ I used #fashionillustration which is maybe 500k or less. So you are more likely to show up. Thinking of strategic hashtags that are focused on what you are doing and being consistent with what you are posting are very important. I only post fashion illustrations I don't post anything else. Lighting is also very important. I try to shoot in good, natural lighting so the viewer can see my art in the exact color it is suppose to be in. Therefore I am not putting filters on my art. Stay really picky about what you post. It is ok to say no to someone if they ask you to post something that you are not comfortable posting. Be really vigilant and true to yourself.

Royale Diary: Where do you want your brand to go next? I know you are partnering with different brands.
Holly Nichols: I love partnering with brands but I also like doing my own thing. I have an online store where I can sell products that I am creating. I really enjoy that because I am interacting with the customers one on one. They’re real people as oppose to the brands that may have an art department, social team, and creative team. I am dealing with these customers one-on-one who love my artwork and are supporting a small business.
