By: Elizabeth McLaughlin & Kaleigh Guay While I could only attend the last two nights because of NYFW, my fashion writer Kaleigh Guay attended all the StyleWeek shows. I am thankful to have such an awesome fashionista on my team. Even though NYFW is beyond amazing, I looked forward to seeing some familiar faces back at home. StyleWeek is a fashion-filled event packed with designers, buyers, media & fashionista's of the North East. The shows took place at the Providence G Ballroom in downtown Providence. MondayAntwan Bryd for DeBricchio Sporty, Flirty and Girly! Antwan Bryd for DeBricchio features beautiful knit sportswear in pink, black and white with mid-drift baring silhouettes and deep necklines. These minimalist designs are perfect for all style types. Cher Horowitz would definitely wear any of these beautiful ensembles to gym class. Be sure to check out this collection and more beautiful knit dresses online. Chaz Aracil Chaz Aracil definitely made a fashion forward statement with the use of unconventional rubber latex materials and feline inspired hairstyles. The neoprene black oversized jacket paired with wools, cool jewel tone printed silk dresses and variety of furs created a creature by night experience. The vibrant green, blue and purple patterns paired with the structure of the garments was inspired by the designers own scientific research. Chaz also collaborated with Zoe Karina Lohmann, an artist from RISD, on the sculptural rubber textile featured on selected looks of his collection. Make sure to check “Specral Cell” collection andmore of Chaz’s creations at CHAZARACIL.com Samuel Vartan Samuel Vartan has the ensemble for any occasion. A casual, sexy, long shirt dress for spontaneous get togethers or everyday. Short opaque color dresses with simplistic sheer details. Long evening gowns with a little sensual accents. TuesdayMode Merr by Angela Zampell Presented by Suite Tart 1950’s inspired, twist on a poodle skirt and hourglass shapes graced the runway. Black was a predominate color in this collection with emphasis on the little details. Keyhole tops, poodle applique on skirt and sheer fabrics is what made this collection stand out. Suite Tart’s own Lulu stole the show in a red voluminous skirt and black curve fitted keyhole top. Check out Mode Merr’s online catalogue for easy ordering. Evolue Apparel by Susan Zemaitis Are you looking to make a lasting impression on your coworkers? Do you have a fancy outdoor party to attend? Inspired by vintage styles, designer Bianca Jones-Pearson creates multi seasonal ensembles that can transition from day to night. Clothes Horse Clothing goes completely eco-friendly and ethical by sourcing materials from independent designers, textile recycling programs, vintage shops and US based textile companies. My favorite piece is the tulle baby-doll dress with accented lace at the hem accessorized with pearls. Be a part of the movement and promote sustainable fashion. Wednesday INSTILLA by Valentina Oppezzo Tasteful twist on the youth of 1980s. Instilla mixes vibrant fun colorful skirts with t-shirts and handbags expressing thoughts and feelings of women. The decade’s inspiration is also carried over through the music selection, music props sequin skirts. My favorite piece in the collection is the comic book style artwork sequin miniskirt. The whole theme and story that was portrayed on the runway enhances the apparel and accessories. You MUST check out Valentina next time you want to wear color. Jeffrey Dickerson Are you looking for a jaw dropping evening gown or two piece? Jeffrey Dickerson had a radiant selection of gowns. My two favorite pieces in particular were the open back peplum bodices paired with luminous skirts. Another reason why I loved this collection was for the silver and metallic tone fabrics used. In my opinion any silver or gold tone jewelry would be the perfect fit for any piece in this collection. Jeffrey even won best dressed man (the same night I won best dressed woman) by trade secrets wearing a suit jacket he made himself! For your next glamous occassion, check out Jeffrey's latest styles . Earl Battle Edgy mohawks paired with multiple patterns glued my eyes to the runway. Earl Battle showcases women’s and men’s apparel with style. The women’s apparel fell into one of two categories. Mix and match of beautiful prints in a relaxed construction or one solid and one print in a unique construction. My favorite piece in particular was a red swirl printed dress paired with a red plaid outer skirt. These two prints you may not typically think they would work together but end up becoming a magnificent dress. The men’s clothing stuck to a specific color scheme per design with angled construction, which was visually appealing. ThursdayChikke - Angelica Timas Plunging necklines and exotic accents, perfect for a hot summer night. Chikke by Angelica Timas took the runway with her SS16 collection. Each piece is made by hand in small quantities to ensure exclusivity. My favorite piece from the collection was the white plunging neckline jumpsuit accented with rope. I also love the adorned collar red dress. Make sure to contact Angelica for her latest collection before the exclusive items sell out. Sarah Prost Do you have a wardrobe that tells a story? Oriental inspired, this season's collection features a mixture of colorful floral patterns and texture. Dress like one. Carissa Lynn Designs features one-of-a-kind desires with gorgeous drapery and accented in intricate trimming. Using a mixture of warm blues, gold & pinks, Carissa created a cohesive and exotic collection perfect for a cocktail party or romantic night out. FridayAmy Stetkiewiez A fashion match made in heaven for the boho chic girl, Amy Stetkiewiez creates a beautiful collection featuring different fabrics with flowy silhouettes. Amy studied at Parsons School of Design. My favorite look is the cascading yellow and blue tinted dress with fringe details on the hem. Also, the denim baby-doll dress is an adorable addition to a fashionista's spring/summer wardrobe. Add some boho to your wardrobe with Amy's care-free styles. Jess Abernethy Be playful in 80's pastels! Score big with Jess Abernethy newest collection featuring shimmer, shine & and pastel tennis rackets. My favorite look from the collection was the sheer and shimmered white top paired with pink pants. Another piece I adored was the flash-back-to-the-80's metallic pink, snakeskin box jacket. Add a pop of color to your spring/summer closet with Jess Abernethy's handmade garments. Jonathan Joseph Peters Accessories by House of Cach How perfect can the hard-core style collaboration of JJP & House of Cach? Their edgy style mesh so well to create a cohesive and visually stimulating collection. Jonathan Joseph Peters is a ready to wear designer with an avant-garde twist. My favorite garment was the asymmetrical black dress with the high slit. House of Cache takes jewelry to a whole new level cultivating designs as a form of art and communication. My favorite accessory was the chain fringe collar necklace and belt combination shown with the snake skin cut-out dress. Photography by: Joe Harary & KDL
