Welcome to my NYFW daily recap! Let's pop that bottle. NYFW always excites me. This year was a complete sensory overload. My week was jam packed with invites to a range of different designers including Georgine, Vivienne Hu, and my personal favorite Chromat. Wednesday my fashion assistant Michael attended the Rubin Singer preview on my behalf. I arrived in NYC early Thursday morning and started my week with the Ladaska Mechelle presentation. I finished day one with the FW16 Marissa Webb show at Skylight Clarkson Square. Ladaska Mechelle most known for swimwear design, showcased a gorgeous collection for her FW16 presentation featuring mixtures of textures and cuts. Inspired by travel and adventure, Ladaska incorporates her experiences into her designs. My two favorite pieces for her collection include the feather vest and high-slit black dress. Guests were also invited to the pre-season pop-up shop in the evening. Debuted at Skylight Clarkson Square, Marissa Webb's designs hit the runway at 3pm on the official day 1 of NYFW. Webb incorporated a sophisticated mix of business-professional plaid and fun floral in her FW16 collection. I would have to say my favorite look from this show was the low-rise leather pants with the high-low cut top. I am a big fan of dramatic cuts and drapes so it isn't a surprise I loved this ensemble.
