StyleWeek SWIM was located at the Providence G Rooftop, modeled after my favorite NYC rooftop hotspot the Gansevoort. Local designers, artisans and fashionistas flooded the rooftop while cocktails and lively music were constantly being served. |
Elizabeth McLaughlin My style is sophisticated, chic and cultural. The outfit I wore was inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultures. I wore a mosaic print maxi dress by Hale Bob purchased at Runway Couture with vintage earrings and the Turks Head building bag by designer Kent Stetson. Purchase the Turks Head Building mini clutch here. | Kaleigh Guay My personal style is sophisticated, sexy, and rocker. The ensemble I wore was inspired by Prada’s 2012 Ready to Wear Collection. Hot Rod cars were displayed on handbags and dress in a variety of colors. My interpretation of Prada’s collection was wearing my red dodge viper envelope handbag by Kent Stetson along with a tie dye abstract patterned red and blue dress. |

At the swim event only their jewelry was represented. My favorite pieces were the classic metal mesh with pools of enameled color. The Fashion Show
Amy StekiewiczAmy snake skin and light blue hues created a calming to the eye look. Printed peasant tunics with athletic triangle bikinis are the perfect combination for a long day at the beach. I liked the almost jersey texture in the bikinis paired with the cotton linen feel of the tunics. FB:Amy |
Eight / Artiss AkarraOld Hollywood is back with Artiss Akarra’s bathing suits. The one piece white gathered halter top and rouging black bottom is the perfect 50s retro swimsuit for summer. The high waist bottoms accented with an opposing color belt gives the 1950s a current look. My favorite feature of the suits was the design element of having four side seams on the bottoms instead of two. Its summer and “Some Like It Hot!” shop.eightunitedrepublicaffair.com FB: Eight . Jess AbernethyNo shoulder pads here only, only the best 1980s trends were represented in Jess Abernethy’s collection. Each model’s was adorned with neon colored visor. Blue hues, sheer fabrics, foil metallic, and hot pink were the main color scheme. The blue floral print brought another texture to the collection. FB:Jess . TW:@JessAbernethy1 |
Jonathan Joseph PetersJonathan Joseph Peters never seizes to amaze me. Not only is he an amazing women’s wear designer he now has incorporated men into his newest collection. This collection was about sophistication and flash. One example was the herringbone print paired with green sequins. Black lace and red sequins were another and the high low trend was present. Spandex and herringbone gave the collection the feel of being active and partying, as well as being a part of society. www.jonathanjosephpeters.com FB: JJP . IG:@jonathanjosephpeters . TW:TheOnlyJJP |
