It is an easy weekend trip since I live in the Providence area, only about 3 hours and 15 minutes away.
My sister Jacquie lives there, so she gave us the grand tour.
We started at Shipyard Brewery where we sat and sampled different beers while playing Mario Cart.
We then headed over to Austin Street Brewery which has the most adorable outside seating area.
They even had beer infused with coffee which Matt went crazy for. I swear he is addicted to caffeine!
The adventures didn't stop there. Jacquie took us to dinner at Portland Lobster Company
which has the BEST Lobster Rolls. They also often have live bands at night. It is always busy there.
For drinks we went to two places. The first was Blyth & Burrows with a secret bar downstairs through a hidden wall.
We then ventured over to The Drink Exchange where the drinks get cheaper or most expensive based on demand.
Such a cool concept modeled from the stock market!
The following day we walked around the streets of Downtown Portland and found some really cool shops.
We actually sell our Kent bags to Abacus, an art gallery that sells specialty pieces.
Clearly Dimillo's is a tourist attraction, but for a reason. It is a restaurant on a boat and has the most stunning view of the ocean.
Their martinis are very good too. Our last stop before we headed back to Rhode Island was a boat tour which is my favorite.
They gave us the history behind the lovely city of Portland. Not so fun fact: It burned down multiple times!
The vibe of Portland is like Newport, RI which is where I spend the majority of my summers.
If you are planning a trip to Portland Maine, I suggest going to some of the places above. :)
Side Note: So funny story, I was booking the hotel for Portland
and ended up booking a place in Portland Oregon.
Don't make the mistake I did!
