As a child I would always be creating and my family encouraged the importance of art. In 2009, I became apart of the first graduating class of JMW high school (Jacqueline M. Walsh School of Performing and Visual Arts) majoring in fine arts. During my time at JMW was allotted the opportunity to attend figure drawing classes at RISD. Shortly after I entered into the Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. I won with my acrylic painting of Historic Slater Mill (located in Pawtucket), was is the first textile mill in the USA.
