Emerging Designers Lord & Taylor in collaboration with Refinery29 presented BRAND ASSEMBLY #TheNewClass at the Fifth Avenue location in New York City. The show featured a contemporary collaboration of up-and-coming designers. Collections showcased included Daniella Kallmeyer, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Saunder, Calla and Priory of Ten. After the show people mingled, sipped delicious wine, and were the first to shop the runway pieces. Designers were walking around to meet the fashionistas who attended the show. In store some designers only made one of each size, making their collection exclusive. I personally like when apparel is one-of-a-kind because I enjoy originality and separating my true fashion style from main stream looks. Designs can be purchased at the Fifth Avenue flagship or online at Lord & Taylor. |
Torn by Ronny Kobo White Faige Sweatshirt & Skirt Sleek and simple white sweater and pleated skirt combination is beautiful for a day in the office and cocktails at night. I am sometimes nervous with wearing white and that it will wash me out, but this ivory color is more flattering on the body. Sachino & Babi Flower Dress I admire classic pieces with a twist. The black flowers on white dress is given dimension by having a hint of blue at the princess seams. This dress would be perfect to transition from day to night. Daniella Kallmeyer Trousers Daniella’s collections are inspired by her personal style of classic, immaculate, effortless and androgyn. The Tan Patch Front Pouch Trousers reflect androgyn because of the boxy silhouette. The T Cut Fringe Slit Clutch is structured and has a clean look. | Michelle Kim Chamisa Shirt & Louise Skirt The vintage inspired flower pattern on the skirt is a perfect combination with the shirt adorned with lace. I like the contrast of the crewneck sweater with bracelet length sleeves on the shirt paired with the mid thigh skirt. Priory of Ten Leather Pants These edgy slit cut “cane leggings” are a more appealing alternative to leather pants. This stretch lambskin and polyester blend have a rocker look but also able to be paired with a feminine blouse and have a different look. Calla Lily Print Sweatshirt Calla presents an asymmetrical print called the Austin Lily Print. This print brings me back to a skateboarder’s lifestyle. I love the edginess of the print and how it was chosen to be displayed in not just a sweater but a flat brim baseball hat as well. |
